Orrin William Alger, the son of William and Ethel Alger, was born May 22, 1923 near Gillett Grove, Iowa. His childhood years were spent on a farm in the Webb, Iowa area, where he received his education at Garfield Consolidated School and later graduated from Gillett Grove School in 1940.
Orrin married Ingrie Nielsen on October 23, 1943 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed for many years near Gillett Grove, until his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gillett Grove, Iowa.
Orrin married Connie Hanson on June 15, 1994 in Wendell & Diane King's garden. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer.
Mr. Alger passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ingrie; one son, Wayne and one brother, Donald.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of Spencer; two daughters: Beverly and her husband, James Heisler of Webb, IA, Connie and her husband, Fred Peters of Sioux Falls, SD; one son, William and his wife, Jeanette Alger of Portland, Oregon; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Karen Titler of Everly, IA; one brother, George and his wife, Dorothy Alger of Dickens, IA; a sister-in-law, Gloria Alger of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, September 4, 2006 with the family present from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Monday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer

North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer
A time of fellowship will follow the committal services at the United Methodist Church in Gillett Grove.
