Patricia Ann Wilson-Garot, 57, of Ruthven, IA, formerly of Spencer, IA, died on May 12th , 2021, at MercyOne Hospital in Mason City, IA, with both her children at each side, holding her hands, to surround her with love in her final moments. Born on April 30th, 1964, raised by Ted and Louise Wilson, Patricia spent her early years in San Bernardino, CA. In 1982, she graduated from San Andreas Highschool, and went on to attend San Bernardino Valley College, studying in the field of data entry until 1985. In those early years spent in California, before making the move to Iowa in 1992,
Patricia would meet Paul Garot, the man she would eventually go on to marry and have two beautiful children with. Those two children would in turn bless her with seven grandchildren, to which she would devote the rest of her life to. If you knew Patricia, you knew that family meant everything to her. She attended every possible sporting event and choir concert that her kids and grandkids were apart of. Often, she would “mother hen” anyone and everyone she met, offering her food, home, and heart. She never failed to make an impression on everyone that crossed her path, passing on unique wisdom and comfort. Wouldn’t be Grandma Trisha if she didn’t leave all of us with such fond memories that would stick for a lifetime. You could almost always count on visiting her and she would be, in her words “getting her groove on” to “mommy mellow music”, even being able to hear it from outside. Much more could be said about Patricia, and she will be dearly missed.
There to greet Patricia on the other side, she is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick “Ted” Wilson and Louise (Patrick) Wilson, brother, Gene Wilson, and sister, Tina (Wilson) Miller. Left behind to forever and always cherish her memory, are her two children, Patrick Wilson (Chelsea Wilson) of Sioux Rapids, IA, and Taylor Garot (Michael Hood) of Laurens, IA, along with her grandchildren, Devyn Wilson, Ethyn Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Paxtyn Wilson, and Laney Wilson, all of Sioux Rapids, IA, Roman Monroe of Valley, NE, and Veda Hood of Laurens, IA, as well as many extended family members, and a variety of friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations towards funeral expenses.
