She moved with her family to a farm four miles west of Spencer at the age of three years. This is where she lived all of her childhood years and most of her teenage years.

In 1966, Pat married Ivan Hosssack. The first five years of their marriage they lived at West Lake Okoboji. They then moved to Spencer where they lived on the golf course. Both enjoyed playing golf and traveling, especially going abroad every other year for several years.
Ivan died in 1995. Pat continued golfing and traveling for many years.
Living more of an inactive life she enjoyed walking, reading, knitting and sewing. Her later years she knit several prayer shawls joining the Prayer Shawl Ministry of her church.
