Due to educational budget cuts in Minnesota, her husband received a full time teaching job in Nebraska and moved to Indianola, NE. They moved back to New Providence, IA, to be house parents at Quakerdale. In 1981, they moved to Spencer, IA, when Pat was hired by Clay County Dept. of Human Services where she worked until her retirement in 1995.
