Patricia (Patty) McCurdy Wilson, 85, of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on January 15, 2021.
She was born December 7, 1935 to Duane and Dorothy (Fries) McCurdy in Spencer, Iowa. Patty graduated from Spencer High School in 1954. She attended business school in Mankato, MN.
Patty often spoke fondly of her high school days where she was a cheerleader, performed in school plays, and was in the marching band. While living in Spencer, she used to read recipes on KICD radio, a local station.
Besides being a wife, mother, and grandma, she worked much of her life in secretarial roles, retiring from Truman Medical Center, receptionist for the Surgical Administration department.
To say Patty was an avid KU Jayhawks Basketball fan is an understatement. Her enthusiasm was evident when it was game time. She and Ken were season ticket holders for several years and together traveled to Lawrence, KS for numerous games at Allen Fieldhouse.
She was a member of Connection Point Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.
Mrs. McCurdy Wilson is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ken Wilson of Blue Springs, MO; two daughters, Wendy (Jim) Cundiff of Lee’s Summit, MO; Shelly (David) Neu of Cincinnati, OH; a stepson, Tim (Deb) Wilson of Overland Park, KS, and five grandchildren, Madison and Natalie Cundiff, Joseph Neu, Jessica and Kaity Wilson; a brother, Tom McCurdy of Oceanside, CA.
Mrs. McCurdy Wilson will rest in her childhood home of Spencer, IA she so dearly loved.
The family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
