Patrick Gibson

December 28, 1935 — August 30, 2009

Patrick "Pat" James Gibson, the son of Albert and Mary Brown Gibson, was born December 28, 1935 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove/Dickens area, where he received his education, graduating from Gillett Grove High School in 1954. Following his schooling, he worked for Spencer Foods and raised hogs and cattle while farming in the Gillett Grove and Dickens area for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Pat also enjoyed his morning "Gillett Grove Coffee Club". Pat passed away at his home on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the age of 73, following a long bout with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jack and Thomas Gibson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jo of Dickens, IA; three sons: Bob and his wife, Michelle Gibson of Webb, IA and John and Tony Gibson of Wilder, ID; two daughters: Chris and her husband, Bryan Tranmer of Jackson, NE and Sue Gibson of Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Marriane Rasmuson of Humboldt, IA; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. There will be a Catholic Vigil service 5:30 P.M., Wednesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

VISITATION

Visitation will begin 2:30 P.M., Wednesday. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
