Paul Anderson

Paul Brainard Anderson, the son of Doyle and Lela Struve Anderson, was born June 4, 1954 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Linn Grove area, where he received his education, graduating from Sioux Valley Community High School. Following his schooling, he worked in Hartley at the packing plant for one year, until returning home to help his dad in farming. Paul married JoAnn Winterboer on July 5, 1974 at the Maple Grove Church near Sutherland, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved back to a farm east of Sioux Rapids and later moved to a farm near Linn Grove. In 1977, they moved to the town of Peterson and he continued to farm. For the last five years, he worked part-time for Wilbert Vault Company. Paul was a board member of the Little Sioux Country Club, was a past member of the Peterson Jaycees, served on the original committee to bring cable T.V. to Peterson, was a member of the Peterson Ambulance Crew, where he also helped the crew get a new ambulance through applying for grant money. He was also active as a little league and high school baseball umpire and coach and was chosen to umpire CABA at the Aurelia Little League World Series. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Linn Grove. Paul loved golfing, fishing, canoeing, playing horseshoes and cards, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchild, Peyton. Paul was a devoted husband, father and he always had time for his family. Paul passed away from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the age of 53. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle and a nephew, Adam Anderson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, JoAnn of Peterson; two daughters: Venus Anderson of Omaha, NE and Rena Anderson and her son, Peyton of Des Moines, IA; his mother, Lela Anderson of Linn Grove, IA; a sister, Elaine and her husband, Martin Schoening of Linn Grove, IA; three brothers: Doug and his wife, Darlene Anderson of Hulberg, Oklahoma, David Anderson of Storm Lake, IA and Duane Anderson of Webb, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Peterson.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin after 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Peterson.
