Paul Clifford Petersen

February 27, 1924 — July 25, 2007

Paul Clifford Petersen, the son of Peter and Alma Soe Petersen, was born February 27, 1924 in Marcus, Iowa. He received his early education in a country school near Marcus and later he attended the Marcus High School where he graduated. Paul was baptized and confirmed at the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Marcus, Iowa. Paul then entered the United States Marines and served in China and Guam from August 22, 1944 to August 25, 1946 during W.W.II. Following his honorable discharge, Paul returned to farm near Remsen and Marcus until 1955. In 1956, he moved to a farm near Sutherland. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa. On July 25, 2007, Paul passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 83. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Harold and Donald. He is survived by several cousins and his close friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa
