Paula Rae Uecker

Paula Rae Uecker, the daughter of Al and Marlly (DeHaan) Gerritsen, was born November 9, 1953 in Orange City, IA. Paula grew up in Spencer, where she graduated from Spencer High School. Following high school, she worked at Spencer Foods, and was also a member of Hope Reformed Church. In October of 1980, Paula married Tim Uecker. Through that union, they had two children, Jennifer and Amy. They later divorced and she began working at BSI in Hartley, where she met the love of her life, Dave Steinbeck. Through the following years, they raised the girls, and did many fun things together such as spending time at the Steinbeck family farm in Everly, and taking part in activities the girls were involved in. Her true passion in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and spoiling them rotten. She passed away at Spencer Hospital on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the age of 58. She was preceded in death by her father, Al Gerritsen. Left to cherish her memory include her spouse, Dave Steinbeck of Spencer; daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Tom Willoughby of Des Moines; Amy and her fianc�, Eric Forrette of Brookings, SD; mother, Marlly Gerritsen of Spencer; sister, Laura and husband, Stew Gehrls of Cedar Rapids; brother, Rad Gerritsen of Spencer; her three grandchildren: Grant, Landon, and Stella; and many other family and friends.
