Pearl Adolf

March 20, 1925 — June 15, 2007

Pearl Bernice Adolf, daughter of John and Elsie (Habeck) Runge was born on March 20, 1925, near George, Iowa. After the death of her parents she made her home with Herman and Hannah Stamp in the May City area. She was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in May City. She married Daryl Adolf December 23, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church. To this union two children were born, a son Lonnie born on January 19, 1953,who died shortly after birth, and one daughter Shelley Ann born on July 6, 1955. She made her home in May City until after the death of her husband Daryl on August 7, 1991. Pearl then moved to Sanborn, Iowa in 1992. Pearl was a longtime member of the St. John's Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, making quilts to be tied and sent to various missions, baking, especially her homemade bread and decorated sugar cookies for the holidays, and feeding her squirrels and birds. A very special part of her life was the time she could spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On June 15, 2007, Pearl passed away at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn, Iowa, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her husband Daryl; son Lonnie; parents, John and Elsie; foster parents, Herman and Hannah Stamp; two brothers: Elmer and Herman Runge; three brothers-in-law: Donald Harms, DeForrest Adolf, Arthur Steinke. Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Shelley (Tim) Klaver of Sanborn, Iowa; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Marc) Anderson of Hospers, Iowa, Jason (Tyanne) Kruger of Sheldon, Iowa, Jill (Paul) Schuler of Cape Coral, Florida; 11 great-grandchildren: Destiny, Jakob, Brayden, and Hunter Anderson of Hospers, Iowa, Mattie, Jason Jr., Shelby, and Cheyanne Kruger of Sheldon, Iowa, Kyla, Kaitlin, and Gracie Schuler of Cape Coral, Florida; sister Rosella Harms of Lake Park, Iowa; sister-in-law Pearl Steinke of Spencer; brother-in-laws: Dale (Shirley) Adolf of Everly, Iowa and Derry (Mary Ann) Adolf of Harris, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church in May City, Iowa.
