Pearl Madson

Pearl Grace Madson, the daughter of Charles and Otelia Fitsimmons, was born on May 17, 1920 at Earlville, IA. She moved with her parents to Webb, IA at the age of 10. She graduated from Garfield School near Webb in 1937. She married Carl L. Madson on May 31, 1937 and they farmed west of Webb until they retired and moved into town. While contributing as a farm wife, Pearl was active in the community as a 4-H leader, community supporter of church activities, charitable organizations, and County Extension Service. She was leader in the founding of the Webb Library. In 1967 her community contributions were recognized by being honored as a Wallaces Farmer Iowa Master Farm Homemaker. She enjoyed square dancing with her "caller" Husband and was active in the family's horse business. She was best known for her KICD daily radio show called "Pearl's Country Kitchen" which aired for 26 years. Pearl passed away at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN on May 18, 2008 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and three brothers. Pearl is survived by her brother Bill Fitsimmons of Bellevue, NE; son Darrel Madson and his wife Carole of Winchester, IN; daughters Grace Kunz of Ames, IA and Joyce Johnson of Belle Plaine, MN; and seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., Wednesday with the family present from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday night at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
