Penny Lou Goedicke

August 29, 1950 — March 7, 2016

Penny Lou Berry Goedicke was born August 29, 1950 in Richland Center, Wisconsin to her parents Patrick Andrew Berry and Madeline Louise Herlitz Berry. At the age of 6 months, she moved with her family to Spencer, Iowa. Penny received her education through the Spencer School System. In 1966, Penny found the love of her life and life companion, David Goedicke. The two married on January 23, 1967. To that marriage were born two sons, Dennis Jay and Andrew Wayne. Penny worked as a custodian for Spencer Schools for 33 years retiring in 2007. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the people she worked with through the years. Among Penny's hobbies were raising flowers, swimming in her pool, street rodding with her husband, traveling, watching her sons play sports and being a shareholder of and watching the Green Bay Packers. Penny lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 7, 2016 while surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, David and her two sons as well as her sister, Kay Schwietzer and her husband Clarence, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Penny was preceded in death by her father and mother, brothers Charles Berry and Richard Berry, parents-in-law, Wayne and Thelma Goedicke and brothers-in-law Walter and Richard Goedicke.
SERVICES
Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
