Peter Ludwig Brustares, the son of Peter and Katherine Schlauch Brustares, Sr., was born November 3, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His childhood years were spent in Blue Earth, Minnesota, where he received his education, graduating from Blue Earth High School. Following his schooling, he entered the Army and served with the U.S. Army from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1960.
Peter married Marilyn Utley on February 2, 1962, in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer, Iowa. During their married life, he worked at the Spencer Packing Plant for 25 years. After the plant closed, he worked at the City Sanitation for 13 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Peter enjoyed going to car races and tractor pulls along with attending various activities of his grandchildren including wrestling as well as visiting with his many friends.
Mr. Brustares passed away at his home in Spencer on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Spencer, IA; four daughters and their husbands: Rita and Rod Hessenius of Ruthven, IA and their children: Ryan of Minneapolis, MN and Robby of Dubuque, IA; Lisa and Jeff Klatt of Redwood Falls, MN and their children: Jessie Brustares and Jerimiah Klatt, Chris and Jason Hollander of Spencer, IA and their daughter, Amanda, and Judy and Mark Hilbers of Stanton, NE and their daughter, Ashley; 10 brother and sister-in-laws; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer with Rev. Gary Nims officiating.
