Phyllis J. Mcdaniel

Phyllis Joy McDaniel, the daughter of Louis and Blanch (Bailey) Rohrbaugh was born on July 17, 1933, in Peterson, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Peterson area where she graduated from Peterson High School in 1951. Phyllis married Richard McDaniel, her high school sweetheart on October 28, 1952, at Maple Grove Church in Sutherland, IA. She enjoyed reading, camping, attending church, her cat 'Arrow', and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peterson. She was a homemaker her entire life. Phyllis passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Jacklyn; two brothers, Jim and Bill Rohrbaugh; one sister, Betty Chesley; and two brothers-in-law. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Jimmy (Shirley) McDaniel of Peterson, IA, Lynnette (Gerald) Petersen of Ringsted, IA, Jeannie (Joel) Weber of Linn Grove, IA, Paul (Kellie) McDaniel of Cherokee, IA, and Ritchie (Karla) McDaniel of Cherokee, IA; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (David) Olson of Peterson, IA and Patty Miller of Griswold, IA; two sisters-in-law: Carolyn Rohrbaugh of Sutherland, IA, and Beverly (Jerry) Fesenmeyer of Rio Hondo, TX; her caretaker, Jolene Johnson; her kitty, 'Arrow'; other relatives and many friends.
