Phyllis Jensen

Phyllis LaVonne Jensen, the daughter of Elmer Allen and Cora Myrtle Faulkner Kabrick, was born November 16, 1918 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School on May 28, 1936. Phyllis married Carl Jensen on May 10, 1941 in Ponca, NE. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where she was a bookkeeper for H&N, Farmer's Coop and later the Northwest Iowa Shopper. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer. She also enjoyed bowling and mountain hiking and had climbed one of the highest mountains in Colorado. Phyllis passed away at her home in Spencer, Iowa on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jerry Markley and two brothers: Clarence and Howard Kabrick. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Carl (Ed) of Spencer; three daughters: Gayen Borgen and her husband, Don of Hackensack, MN, Cheryl Green of Beaverton, OR and Jan Lenhert of Escondido, CA; one son, Dr. Perry Jensen and his wife, Lisa of Temecula, CA; 8 grandchildren: Don, Todd and Tony Borgan, Michelle Wyatt, David and Matthew Green and Nick and Greg Jensen; 6 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Spencer.

Visitation will begin after 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

INTERMENT
Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa **Burial will take place at 9:30 A.M., Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.
