Phyllis June Tibbetts

June 13, 1925 — June 21, 2013

Phyllis June Tibbetts, the daughter of George and Meta Jensen Brandt, was born June 13, 1925, at Brook Township, Peterson, Iowa. She graduated from Brook Consolidated School in 1943. Phyllis continued her education graduating with a Nursing Degree from St. Joseph's College of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa in 1946. She was united in marriage to Delbert Lavern Tibbetts on October 13, 1946 at Peterson. After living two years in Sioux City, they moved to a farm southwest of Peterson. Phyllis was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Peterson. She served with the Eastern Star for 69 years, American Legion Auxiliary, Birthday Club and neighborhood card club. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed reading, knitting and genealogy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Phyllis passed away at the Cherokee Regional Hospital on June 21, 2013, at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert in 1986 and one grandson, Nicholas Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Margaret (Steve) Schaefer of Lincoln, NE, Marcia (Donald) Miller of Indianola, IA and Julie Worden of Tipton, IA; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Jane) Brandt of Washington, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at First Congregational Church in Peterson.

VISITATION
Will begin at Noon on Monday with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Warner Funeral Home in Peterson. Eastern Star Service will be held at 5:30pm at Warner Funeral Home.
