Phyllis Kunzman

January 18, 1927 — January 23, 2017

Phyllis Mae Kunzman, daughter of Thomas and Eliza Zaiser Scharnberg, was born January 18, 1927 near Everly, Iowa. She has spent most of her entire life within a ten mile radius of Everly. She graduated from the Everly High School in 1944 and attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa for one year. She worked in Spencer at H&N until her marriage to Cory. They were married in the Old Lutheran Church in Everly on June 1, 1947. When Cory's mother moved to Spencer, they started farming on the farm that Cory was born and raised on. They farmed for 42 years until their sons took over. Their retirement years were spent between the Lakes area and Florida. She was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling. Phyllis passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cory in 2004 and her brother, Dale Scharnberg in 2009. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Tom (Pat) Kunzman of Royal, IA and Tim Kunzman of Moneta, IA; two grandsons: Chad (Jill) Kunzman and Cory Kunzman; 3 great grandchildren: Abby, Grant and Thomas; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
