Jean Phyllis Sheridan, daughter of John and Jean Turner Grieve, was born on July 24, 1916 at the home of her parents near Webb, Iowa. Jean Phyllis was known as Phyllis as a young child and is known as Phyllis by her family and friends. Phyllis received her early education in Webb and graduated from Webb High School in 1933. Phyllis went on to further her education at Buena Vista College for 2 years and then received her Bachelors Degree with a major in Education from the University of Northern Iowa.
