Ralph Nord

January 23, 1916 — October 10, 2013

Ralph Vincent Nord, the son of Ernest and Beda Swenson Nord was born January 23, 1916 in Evanston, IL. His childhood years were spent in the Chicago area where he graduated high school. Ralph worked as for Com-Ed, an electric company in Chicago, IL for 46 years. He married Velma Ross in Chicago, IL on June 9, 1939. They moved to Peterson, IA in 2007, and had been happily married 69 years until her death in 2009. Ralph enjoyed playing golf, reading, and when his eyes got bad he listened to books on tape. He attended First Congregational Church in Peterson, IA. Ralph passed away at Sunset Noll Care Center in Aurelia, IA on October 10, 2013, at the age of 97. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velma, one brother, Roy, and 3 sisters, Margaret, Connie, and Hazel. Left to cherish his memory are his 2 sons, Thomas Nord of San Francisco, CA and Bill (Bernadette) Nord of Peterson, IA; 5 grandchildren, Suzanna, Bradley, Craig, Christopher, and Kimberly; 2 great-grandchildren, Thomas and Hunter; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES

Memorial services will take place 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 18, at First Congregational Church in Peterson.
