Ralph Taylor

Ralph Arnold Taylor, the son of Bayard and Alta Fink Taylor, was born April 2, 1935, in Langdon, Iowa. He received his early education in country schools and then graduated from the Spencer High School. In January of 1957, Ralph entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1959. Ralph lived in the Langdon and Spencer area all his life. For 30 years, he worked at the Spencer Packing Plant. On January 15, 1971, He married Marlene J. Erickson in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. He and Marlene owned and operated the Spencer Taxi for 10 years and he also delivered the Spencer Daily Reporter. Ralph enjoyed old cars, cooking and barbequing for his family. Ralph passed away at his home on December 23, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene; infant son, Randy and one brother, Dale Taylor. He is survived by his step-son and his wife, Rodney Mayou and Susie of Laurens, IA; step-grandson, C.J. Mayou; 2 brothers: Clarence Taylor of Spencer and Earl Taylor of Dickens; 2 sisters: Dorothy Beck and Effie Curry and her husband, Earl of all of Spencer, IA; one sister-in-law, Clarabelle Taylor of Storden, MN; half brother, Melvin Taylor of Vancouver, WA; many nieces and nephews and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. Following the service, Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion - Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin after 3:00P.M., Monday, with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00P.M., Monday evening at the funeral home.

INTERMENT
Northlawn Memorial Park Spencer, Iowa After the burial, lunch will be served at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
