Randy Edward Harig

September 3, 1954 — December 22, 2011

Randy Edward Harig, the son of Rudolph and Laura Hansen Harig, was born September 3, 1954 in Algona, IA. He received his early education at St. Cecelia's and graduated from Garrigan in Algona. Following his schooling, Randy did construction work and trucking. Randy married Joanne Kampen on January 17, 1981 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Laurens, IA. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer, IA where Randy worked at the Spencer Ready Mix. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer and a past Eagles Club Member. Randy enjoyed R/C car racing, fishing, bicycling, woodworking, acrylic painting and building models in his spare time. Most of all Randy loved his family and spending time with them. Randy passed away on December 22, 2011 at his home at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joni of Spencer; his children, Monica Stewart of Spencer, and Mike (Trinity) Harig of Sibley, IA; his grandchildren, Sadi, Skyler, Jeff, Jacob, Ashlynn, Hailey, Alaina, and Krystal, other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 27, at the Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer.
