Randy Lee Harris

Randy Lee Harris, the son of Marvin Lee and Ardythe Joann Jaeger Harris, was born February 17, 1954 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his early education in the Spencer school system. He entered the military in 1971 and served with the U.S. Army from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1974. While in the military he received his diploma in Germany. Following his service, he returned to Spencer. In 1988, he moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he did volunteer work for the V.A. Hospital. He later returned to Spencer, where he had resided at the time of his death. Randy married Carolyn Putensen on April 9, 1996 at the Methodist Church in Fostoria, Iowa. He attended several churches in the Spencer area and was a member of the First Christian Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, swimming and playing pool. Randy passed away unexpectedly at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the age of 52. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn. He is survived by two sons: Adam Joe Harris of Iowa City, IA and Aaron John Harris of Spencer, IA; two grandsons, Nicholas and Atticus; his parents: Marvin and Ardythe Harris of Spencer; one brother, Danny Lee and his wife, Paula Harris of Spencer; one sister, Vicki Lee and her husband, Patrick Delaney of Merritt Island, Florida; other relatives and friends.
