Randy Gene Woolery, the son of Esley 'Earl' and Charlotte (Wilkie) Woolery, was born September 1, 1954 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in and around the Spencer area where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1972. He worked as a mechanic at Arnie's North 66 until Arnie's retirement.
Randy married Cheri Dammann on June 30, 1979, in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer where he worked at Charlstrom Oil, Spencer Auto Parts, McCarney Furniture and later at Eaton Corporation in Spencer. For the last several years he worked as a detailer for H & N Chevrolet until his health forced him to retire in January of 2012. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer where he served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and was on the Board of Trustees. Randy loved cars, motorcycles, camping, reading, Coca Cola items, NASCAR and most of all spending time with his family.
He passed away at his home in Spencer on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the age of 58. Randy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry; and one sister, Linda Menting.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheri; his children: Nathan, Samuel, Emma and Alex, all of Spencer; one sister, Lori Henderson of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother-in-law, Marvin Menting of Everly, Iowa, one sister-in-law, Cindy Drefke and her husband, Neal of Spencer, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Monty Dammann and his wife, Monica of Pensacola, Florida; many other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 13 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established by the family.
