Ray Kenneth Brown, 84, died at Longhouse on November 2, 2009. Ray was born August 26, 1925 in Monroe County, IA, to William and Phebie Newman Brown. After graduating from Moravia High School he joined the Army on November 10, 1945 during WWII. After an Honorable Discharge on January 20, 1947 Ray began working for the telephone Company. While working Ray met and married Delores Stevenson on November 18, 1948 in Jackson, MN. Ray also worked for Block Works and retired from Spencer foods after 35 years. After retirement Ray worked part-time for Dekalb. Ray was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, Nascar, coin collecting, gardening, and canning his own food, especially strawberry jam. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores, 3 brothers; Harold, Richard, and Charles Brown, 2 sisters; Virgie Foster and Elsie Stickler. Left to cherish his memory are 4 children; Bill (Lisa) Brown of Shelbina, MO, Ray Brown of Des Moines, Linda (Donnie) of Spencer, and Kathy (Gene) of Durango, CO; 7 grandchildren; Buddy Norris, Tammy Elliott, Kevin, Bill Derek, Heather, and Amber Brown; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Zelda Kuhns of Ottumwa, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday November 5, 2009 at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

VISITATION
