Raymond Franklin Banks, the son of Merrill and Leana (Case) Banks, was born October 6, 1920 in Clay County, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his education.
Raymond married Edith 'Eleanor' (Knight) Banks on September 20, 1942, in Spencer. They farmed in the Fostoria area for many years before retiring and moving to Spencer in 1987. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer.
He passed away at Northshire Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the age of 95. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor in 2001; one daughter, Betty Parson; an infant brother and one sister, Marlene Summers.
Left to cherish her memory are his three sons and their wives: Alan and Cherie Banks, Brian and Belle Banks and Galen and Ann Banks all of Spencer; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Helen Brigham of Everly, IA; other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Raymond's name.
SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 1:30 P.M., Saturday, June 4, at First Christian Church in Spencer.
