Raymond Glenn Hart, the son of Raymond and Ethel (Mason) Hart was born on September 21, 1924, in Langdon, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Langdon area where he attended school and graduated from Webb High School. He then furthered his education at the Omaha Nebraska School of Business.
Glenn was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1945 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1947. He married Helen Donaldson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA, on January 14, 1948. They lived and worked on a farm south of Webb, IA, until he retired and moved to Spencer in 1998.
Glenn enjoyed fishing, card games particularly 500, board games, traveling, cooking and eating. He liked going to buffets, especially Stubbs Ranch Kitchen. Glenn also enjoyed peanut brittle, any kind of popcorn, but especially popcorn balls, and Helen’s Blarney Stone bars.
Glenn passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Darrell Hart; and one sister, Shirley Stewart.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children: Cheryl (Sam) Emond of Bullard, TX, and Linda (Jim) Casey of Spencer, IA; four grandsons: Tim Renz, Tom (Kate) Renz, Matthew (Amy) Maurer and Eric (Lisa) Maurer; eight great-grandchildren: Jackson and Madison Renz, Molly, Katie, Ruby, and Elizabeth Maurer, Rhys and Chase Maurer; other relatives and many friends.
