Raymond Paul Krause, the son of August and Lucille Gilland Krause, was born June 27, 1933 in Rockwell City, IA. He grew up on a farm and attended a country school near Rockwell City. Raymond served in the U.S. Army for two years with an honorable discharge in 1953.
He married Charlene Cogdill on May 12, 1956 in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage they lived in Lake City, IA and the surrounding area. In 1961, they moved to rural Webb, IA and made their home there for 28 years, before moving to Sioux Rapids, IA.
Raymond worked for K-Webb, Inc. for 50 years and owned and managed Gran Apartments in Sioux Rapids for over 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, woodworking and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Raymond passed away on December 21, 2012 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Melford, George and Harold; 2 sisters: Lena Knight and Delores Morrow.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlene of Sioux Rapids, IA; 3 children: Paul Krause of Linn Grove, IA, Paulette(Wade) McCall of Sioux Rapids, IA and Joel (Rose) Krause of Highland Village, TX; 5 grandchildren: Leslie McCall of Sioux City, IA, Cody McCall of Spencer, IA, Alexandra and Savannah Krause of Linn Grove, IA and Katherine Krause of Highland Village, TX; 2 brothers: Clarence Krause of Story City, IA and Clifford Krause of Kansas City, MO; 4 sisters: Rachel Geisinger and Minnie VanAhn of Lake City, IA, Mabel Vetter of Manson, IA and Carole (John) Eritt of Somers, IA; 2 sisters-in-law: Irva Krause of Pomeroy, IA and Deloris Krause of Lake City, IA and brother-in-law, Keith Cogdill of Cylinder, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
