Richard Arlin Culver

Richard Arlin Culver, the son of Arlin and Mildred Davis Culver, was born July 9, 1964 in Spencer, Iowa.  He received his early education and graduated from Spencer High School in 1983.  Rich continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa.

     On August 19, 1988, Rich married Jeanie Anderson at the Mansion in Spencer, Iowa.  Rich worked at H & N, Don Pierson Ford and currently at Vander Haag’s.  Rich also enjoyed hanging out and doing side jobs at Carl’s Media Blasting.

     Rich married Dawn Van Engen on July 10, 2010 in Spencer.  In his spare time, Rich loved having his friends over to hang out in his garage listening to music and talking about cars and motorcycles.  He also loved his dogs and for the past 35 years he enjoyed being a part of the “Dirt Crew” at the Clay County Fair working maintenance on the race track.

     Rich passed away peacefully at home with his dog, Rudy by his side.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

     He is survived by his wife, Dawn Culver of Sioux Falls, SD; step son, Ben Van Engen of Sioux Falls, SD; step granddaughter, Ivy May; half brother, Lyle Hamrick Jr. of Omaha, NE; his uncle, Ray Davis and Judy of Spencer; his first wife, Jeanie Culver of Spencer; many children who called him “grandpa”; his beloved dog, Rudy; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at Warner Chapel in Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established.
