Richard Arnold Landoe, the son of Leonard and June Landoe was born September 22, 1943, in Dickinson, ND. His childhood years were spent in St. Cloud, MN and Devils Lake, ND where he received his early education. His family moved to Spencer, IA where he graduated from Spencer High School in 1961.
Following graduation Richard entered the Air Force. He was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he worked in airborne missile maintenance in the 28th AMMS. Richard was later stationed with the 2AMMS at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana.
On April 8, 1968, Richard was united in marriage to Judith Birch at Barksdale Air Force Base. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1968, Richard worked for Sears Roebuck & Company until moving back to Spencer in 1971. He then went to work for Sherwin Williams and the Jobs Training Partnership Act before retiring in 2001.
Richard enjoyed building and flying model rockets, playing Nintendo especially Zelda, and restoring his 1960 Triumph TR3. Most of all Richard loved to be around his family and grandchildren.
On July 9, 2007, Richard passed away at his home in Spencer at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Caleb Johnathon Schuster.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judith Landoe, of Spencer, Iowa; two daughters: Christin (Justin) Lee of Spencer, Iowa, Jennifer (Rory) Schuster of Spencer, Iowa; two grand-daughters: Ashley and Olivia of Spencer, Iowa; sister, Barbara Landoe of Minneapolis, Minnesota; several nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa.
