Richard Luverne Hall, the son of Henry and Essie (Karekel) Hall, was born on March 16, 1929 in Primghar, IA. His family moved to Sheldon when he was nine and where he received his early education. Richard entered into the military on January 22, 1952, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While in the service he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Parachutist Badge. He was honorably discharged on January 21, 1954.
On February 22, 2000, Richard married Mary Harris in Primghar, Iowa. Richard spent most of his adult working life as a truck driver for Montgomery Ward Department Store. He was a member of the American Legion in Hartley. Richard loved to cook and have a big garden of vegetables. He also had several fruit trees planted in his yard.
Richard passed away on Thursday December 29, 2011, at the Cherokee Medical Center in Cherokee at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary; his two sons: Larry Hall and his wife, Evyonne of Brainerd, MN and Steve Hall and his dear friend, Sheila of Nashville, TN; one grandson; one sister, Alice Kloppenberg of Cedar Rapids, IA; other relatives and many friends.

Richard's wishes were to be cremated and no services are being held at this time.
