Richard Otto Kephart

Richard Otto Kephart, the son of Tom and Edith V. (Handy) Kephart, was born May 1, 1928 in Peru, Iowa. He worked as a farm hand in southern Iowa and other areas. Richard married in 1958 to Beulah King. He worked for ten years for the Department of Clay County until he injured his back and was forced to retire. Richard has resided in southern Iowa, Dickens, IA, Spencer, IA and for the last few years at St. Luke Lutheran Home. He passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the age of 84. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Michael and Joey Kephart; a daughter, Laura Kephart; one grandson, Micheal Kephart; a brother, Floyd Kephart and a nephew, Lincoln Kephart. He is survived by a son, Jeff Kephart and his wife, Georgia of Royal, IA; a daughter, Dixie Davis of Texas; one brother, Clarence Kephart and his wife, Linda of California; a sister-in-law, Lavon Kephart of Spencer, IA; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
