Richard W. Rasmuson

April 18, 1935 — January 25, 2010

Richard Wesley Rasmuson, the son of Russell and Elsie (Woods) Rasmuson, was born April 18, 1935 in Garner, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Garner, where he received his education. He entered the military in 1954 and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, until his honorable discharge in 1956. After returning from the service, he lived in Spencer where he began his career with Witt Sales. Richard married Jean Ann Enderton on August 17, 1979 in Webb, IA. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, Iowa, where he continued his career for Witt Sales for a total of 32 years. He later worked for Sunshine Center, driving truck for two years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Sioux Rapids. Richard loved all sports, especially watching his Vikings. He also loved visiting with people and caring for his cats. Richard passed away at the Sioux Rapids Care Center in Sioux Rapids, IA on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Sharon Dekrife and Sandra Johnson and a son, Jeff Rasmuson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jean of Spencer, IA; his two daughters, Barbara Dotson of Hopkins, MN and Val Miller of Webb, IA; his three sons: Steve Rasmuson; Gary Miller and his wife, Michelle of Spencer, IA and Clifford Miller of Webb, IA; four grandchildren, Ashley and Jessica Dotson and Alex and Samantha Miller; two sisters: Louise Rasmuson of Garner, IA and Neoma Rhyne of Ventura, IA; a half brother, Jack Sandberg of Kansas; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa. Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion - Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer.

Will begin after Noon on Thursday with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the Warner Funeral Home.

INTERMENT
Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa Following the graveside services, there will be a lunch served in the fellowship hall at the Grace United Methodist Church.
