Richard William Gray, the son of John and Catherine Thul Gray, was born January 10, 1924 in Clarion, IA. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he attended school and graduated from Spencer High School.
Richard married Lowene Brallier on November 28, 1942 in Spencer, IA. They lived in Royal and Graettinger, before settling down in Spencer. He worked for Skelly Oil Company and as a carpenter, before he started trucking. He bought and ran Spencer Truck Line in 1970 until 1988. He later moved to Fostoria.
Richard enjoyed fishing, gardening, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer and Saddle Club.
Richard passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his wife Lowene; his parents; a grandson, Joshua Galm; and two sons-in-law, Terry Galm and Doug Lachner.
Left to cherish his memory are his 4 children, Sharon (Richard) Burgeson of Milford, IA, Richard (Monika) Gray of Dickens, IA, Janet Galm and Jim Ransom of Royal, IA, and Terry (Lori) Gray of Arnolds Park, IA; 8 Grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will take place Sunday, October 30, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, starting at 3:00 P.M., with the family present from 3-5:00 P.M.
A Vigil Service will take place at 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 30, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
