Robert Arthur Schomburg, the son of Albert and Emma Louter Schomburg, was born July 6, 1924 in Greenville, Iowa. Bob attended Greenville Schools.
Bob married Anna Marie Eriksen on August 5, 1945 in Spencer, Iowa. Bob and Anna Marie farmed for forty-one years in Dickinson County. They retired in 1989 and moved to Spencer.
Bob enjoyed his retirement, spending much of his time volunteering at St. Luke Lutheran Home, delivering mail to the residents and helping at Fairview Elementary School. Bob was a member of First English Lutheran Church and also the Golden Kiwanis Club.
Bob passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Monday, February 13, 2006 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lucille Sixta and a brother, Bill.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie of Spencer; two sons: David and his wife, Peg of Coram, New York and Tim and his wife, Carol of Rochester, Minnesota; one sister, Ella Bleeker of Hartley, Iowa; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as extended family and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
