Robert "Bob" Edwin Doran

October 16, 1959 — April 6, 2018

Everly

Bob Doran passed away Friday April 6, 2018 at Spencer Hospital.  He was born in Estherville on October 16, 1959 to Duane and Julia Doran (dec 1966).  He has a brother Jeff (Brenda).  In 1969 Bob joyously welcomed Allan, Pat (Terry), and new mom Betty into the family.

Bob grew up in Everly where he received his high school education and created many lifelong friendships.  He excelled in sports where he played football, basketball, and track.

He received his college education at Iowa Lakes where he earned degrees in Auto Body Repair and Aviation.  He was an entrepreneur where he owned Bob’s Auto Body Repair in Everly for many years.  Bob later owned a trucking business where he thoroughly enjoyed working with Hartley AG Partners.

Bob married the love of his life… Lisa Beisser… on June 1, 1991.  Through this union they have two sons: Josh (25) and wife Heather of Buena Vista, Colorado and Jake (17) of Everly.  His family meant everything to him.  He loved to work on family projects while building memories.  Together they enjoyed assembling “off road” jeeps and even constructed their own log cabin home on their acreage.  Bob’s farm animals, garden and amazing asparagus patch received a lot of love and attention.

Family vacations to Alaska, California, and many to Colorado and South Dakota were very special.  A two-week trip in the summer of 2017 while camping, jeeping, and enjoying family was a highlight.

Bob’s passion was flying and he owned many planes over the years.  He was at home in the sky and was closer to heaven…it was spiritual to Bob.  He loved flying his last airplane with his family… a Cherokee Arrow named Scarlett.  This really made Bob grin!  His flying buddies were very special friends!

He was known for his hard work, kindness, big heart and his never-ending smile.  Bob loved watching the old TV shows:  Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Hogan’s Hero’s, and Gun Smoke.  He always wanted to slow down and paint mountain scenes on canvas.  This year he crafted some masterpieces our families will always cherish!

Bob was a spiritual believer who formed his life around our Lord Jesus Christ.  His strong belief, faith and spirit is carried on through his family and friends.  Personally meeting with Joel Osteen at the 2017 Denver revival was enriching.  Bob truly believes in the everlasting and we know he is in a better place.

Bob courageously fought pancreatic cancer for 15 months with an amazing positive attitude.  He helped us view life differently.  We strive to live each day with a new love of life, faith, and family...priorities!

Here to cherish Bob’s memories are sons Josh and Jake, wife Lisa, brothers Jeff and Allan, sister Pat, parents Duane and Betty, Lisa’s mother Marti Beisser, siblings Brian (Lorraine) Beisser, Justin (Lindsey) Grady, Brenda (Art) Currier and respective families and many many great friends.

Welcoming Bob to heaven is mother Julia, brother Dennis and grand parents Tillie and Francis Doran, Ardis and Archie Lemker, and Vetalis and Emma Ludewig.
