Robert Charles Donahoo, the son of Robert Frank and Leona (Niebuhr) Donahoo, was born on March 24, 1937 in Omaha, NE. Robert was raised and attended Brook Consolidated School where he graduated and then went to Buena Vista College for 2 years.
On May 24, 1958, Robert married Wanda Nothwehr at St. John’s Church in Rural Peterson. He farmed in the Peterson area his whole life. Robert loved caring for the farm and protecting the land. Throughout his life, Robert was innovative in employing soil conservation practices. He was an active 50-year member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge; he was also an active 50-year member of Eastern Star. He was a 4-H leader, was on the school and church boards, a soil conservation officer, and on the BV Extension Council.
He enjoyed traveling with Wanda. Over the years, they made trips to Hawaii, Alaska, San Diego, and many other destinations. He also enjoyed fishing, but most of all he loved to spend time with family.
Robert passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Cherokee Specialty Care in Cherokee at the age of 83. Family preceding Robert in death include his son Robert Arthur, his parents, and brother Charles.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda of Peterson, IA; his daughters: Debra (Jody) Maske of Newell, IA; Susan Donahoo (Steve Ralph) of Oconomowoc, WI; and Jeanne (Tom) Repas of Hermosa, SD; his son, David of Sheldon, IA; his daughter-in-law, Kathryn Donahoo of Storm Lake, IA; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his sister, Kathryn Hansen, and other relatives and friends.
