Our Dad
Dad would tell us stories about when he was a lad
According to him he was never bad.
As a returning sailor he stole our mom's heart
That we all agree was a very good start.
His two sons and two daughters with him were blessed
He was proud of each of us as we did our best.
When it came to love he was a man of few words
But by his actions his love was easy to observe.
He rarely talked about his faith in the Lord
But by his example he showed us that it was Christ we should adore.
He liked to be a fix-it man.
For every problem he had a plan.
If not playing cards, golf or games
He was mowing the lawn; it was his claim to fame.
He always remembered a friend's favorite thing
When he brought it to them they felt like a King.
When he was asked for his favorite treat
Any kind of cheese couldn't be beat.
He always said apple pie without cheese
Is like a kiss without a squeeze.
Bob, Dad, Grandpa, Pa what ever your name
We love you and miss you all the same.
