Robert Herman Ernest Mugge, age 82, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Bob was born on August 10, 1924 to Arthur and Grace (Hessenius) Mugge on the family farm by Calumet, Iowa; the oldest of six children. He moved with his family in 1933 to a farm southwest of Spencer, Iowa.
Bob attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Spencer High School in 1942.
Bob married Marilyn Mann on December 5, 1943. To this union, three daughters were born; Barbara Jo, Kathryn Anne, and Robin Louise.
The couple farmed northwest of Rossie until 1960. In 1960, they purchased the Stockmans Club. In 1965, he went to work for Honeybee Corporation. In 1981, Bob and Marilyn moved to Mesa, Arizona, where they lived during the winter months, coming back to Everly every summer.
Family and friends meant everything to Bob and he cherished every moment he could spend with them. He especially enjoyed playing cards, mainly Gin Rummy, fishing, telling stories and jokes, Barb's Corner, cooking, the Clay County Fair, gardening, western shows, and great grandchildren. Bob also had many friends that he enjoyed the company of and they enhanced his life.
Bob enjoyed being active in his community and was involved in many projects throughout his life. Activities included President of the State FFA, President of Northwest Iowa Angus Association, 4-H leader for ten years, Governor of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Spencer, and was a member of Everly Lions Club especially active in the construction of Scharnberg Park. He was also an active member of Everly United Methodist Church for over forty years.
Those who will always cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Marilyn and his children: Barbara (Jerry) Dudeck of Mesa, Arizona; Kathryn (Tom) Goeken of Everly, Iowa; and Robin (Bob) Andrews also of Everly, Iowa. His grandchildren include Dan (Kim) Dudeck, Steven Dudeck, Scott (Jennifer) Goeken, Kevin (Rebecca) Goeken, Chris (fianc� Krista) Galm, Nick Galm, Amalie Galm, Lori Andrews, and Brad Andrews. Great grandchildren include Jack and Ethan Dudeck, Isaac, Kyle, Noah, Helen, and Abby Goeken. Two brothers: Keith and Bennett Mugge of Spencer, Iowa and two sisters: Beverly (Jerry) Kimball of Spencer, Iowa and Sandra (Jerry) Wilmot of Okoboji, Iowa. Countless other relatives and friends. Will also cherish many great memories of Bob.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Morgan, and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Everly, Iowa.

Visiting hours will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
