Robert Keith Lage, the son of Grant and Ethel Hardman Lage, was born July 11, 1924 in Milford, Iowa. Robert received his early education and graduated from the Milford High School. Robert then entered the United States Army Air Force serving from March of 1943 until his honorable discharge in September of 1945.
Robert married Colleen Collins on June 1, 1947 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Following their marriage, Robert continued his education at the University of Arizona where he received his B.A., he then went on to Colorado State receiving his Masters and then he received Specialist at Iowa State. Following his schooling, Robert was Principal, teacher and coach at Ute, Lakota, Gillett Grove and Melvin, IA. Robert then moved to Albert City where he was Principal and then Superintendent. In 1968, Robert moved to Exira where he was Superintendent and then retired as Superintendent from South Page Community Schools in Braddyville. Robert then moved to Spencer where he did substitute teaching. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Masons, Shrine and Lions Club. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed Square Dancing, Traveling, Golf and playing cards. Robert especially enjoyed winter in Texas with his wife Colleen for several years.
Robert passed away on September 14, 2012 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother, Donald.
He is survived by his three children: Ronda Kay Bean and her husband, Lee of Everly, IA, William Grant Lage and his wife, Sherri of Minneapolis, MN, and Marianna Renae Rowell and her husband, Steven of Marion, IA; 6 grandchildren: Cheyenne Bean, Amber (Matthew) Rocazzi, Allison Genereau, Eric Lage, Michaela Rowell and Jakob Rowell; 5 great grandchildren: Brayden Bean, Anthony Rocozzi, Nicolas Rocozzi, Christopher Rocozzi and Cora Genereau; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Will begin at 5:00pm on Monday. Masonic Service by the Evening Shade Lodge #312 A.F. and A.M. of Spencer will be held at 5:00pm. The family will be present from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Warner Chapel.
