Robert Meyn, the son of Emil and Minnie (Heidt) Meyn was born July 13, 1927, in Manhatten, New York. His childhood years were spent in Ridgewood and Queens, NY, where he attended grade school and high school.
On February 2, 1954, Robert was united in marriage to Catherine McDonnell in Mt. Vernon, New York. Robert resided in New York, New Jersey, and New Mexico where he worked at an oil field for 10 years before moving to Spencer in 1986, then to Everly in the spring of 1992 and back to Spencer in 2003.
Robert was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, IA. He was also an active member of RSVP and as elder guide for the Northwest Aging Association. In his free time he enjoyed gardening.
On February 13, 2007, Robert passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Robert and Richard; one brother, Arnold; one sister, Helen Kettelson; step-mother, Anna Meyn; step-brother, Lawrence Vesper and step-sister, Marie Cummings.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Michael Meyn of Henryville, PA, and James Meyn of Lubbock TX; three daughters: Mary Ellen Bailey and her husband, Michael Kennemer of Carlsbad, NM, Kathleen Voyles and her husband, Lonnie of Lovington, NM and Eileen Meyn of Lovington, NM; 16 grandchildren; one nephew, John Kettelson; two nieces: Ellen Meyn and Jeannie McDonald; other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held in New Mexico at a later date.
