Robert Lee Schoorman

Robert Lee Schoorman, the son of Kenneth and Helen Brigham Schoorman, was born March 12, 1949, in Spencer, Iowa. He received his early education in country schools near Fostoria and then Okoboji, Milford for one year and then from 7th grade in Everly where he graduated in 1969.

Following his schooling, Robert did corn shelling and drove truck and farmed until 1982. He then worked at Cornbelt Equipment for 14 years and then at the Everly CO-OP until his retirement in 2015. Robert worked the last few years with Clay County mowing ditches.

In his spare time, Robert loved being in the outdoors hunting pheasants every weekend from first to last day of the season. He also enjoyed tractor pulls, putting tractors together, helping local farmers during the fall in the fields.

Robert passed away at his home on April 23, 2025, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Roger and Vernon Schoorman.

He is survived by his daughter, Chloe (Cody) Montgomery of Elkhart, Iowa; grandson, Hunter Austin of Elkhart, Iowa; his sister, Louise Simpson of Spencer, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
