Roberta Margaret Rouse, the daughter of Joseph L. and Margaret Reynolds Graham, was born October 2, 1933,in Milford, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Milford where she received her education, graduating from Milford High School. After high school, she attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX, where she received her teaching degree. She taught adult education at Caly Trade School in Los Angeles, CA, for a period of time. She also worked for the Herald Examiner in California.
Roberta married Jerome W. Picket and following their divorce, married R. Carl Bol. They moved to Spencer where she worked for Northwestern Bell for 10 years. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Spencer. Roberta was also a secretary of the AARP, a member of the FOE "Eagles" Club and a past President of the Legion Auxiliary.
Following her divorce from Robert, she married Donald Rouse on May 6, 1994 in Canton, SD.
Roberta passed away at the Southridge Health Care Center in Sioux Falls, SD on Friday, September 19, 2008 at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and third husband; and one sister, Connie Coe.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sheila and her husband, Larry Steece of Spencer, IA, Robert "Curt" Bol of Glendale, AZ, and Crystal and her husband, Jeff Hoffman of Sioux Rapids, IA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Graham of Brownsville, TX; one sister, Judy and her husband, Ron Peterson of Edmond, OK; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, September 22, 2008, at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
