Rodney Drew Burgeson

November 15, 1939 — April 3, 2017

Rodney, son of Glen and Fern (Baker) Burgeson, was born on November 15, 1939. Born and raised in Peterson, Rodney married the love of his life, Lorna Endersby, on October 11, 1960 and they made their home southwest of Peterson until moving to Spirit Lake in 2002 upon retirement. Born to Rod and Lorna were two children, Daniel and Robyn. A life-long farmer, Rod took pride in his work and loved the arrival of spring when he could plant the crops and work with newborn calves. He and Lorna enjoyed their many friends, golfing, fishing, and traveling. He especially enjoyed time with his family and was a treasured father and grandfather. Rod Burgeson, 77, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Lakes Regional Medical Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Lorna; children, Daniel (Jill) Burgeson from Minneapolis, MN and Robyn (Bret) Mills from Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Myles (Sinsiea) Burgeson, Brooke Burgeson, Elizabeth Mills and Andrew Mills, in addition to many friends and family. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Fern Burgeson; step-mother, Nadine; granddaughter, Kathryn Mae Mills.

SERVICES

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Peterson.
