Roger Alan Greiner

April 12, 1935 — December 1, 2013

Roger Alan Greiner, the son of Roy and Helen Kladstup was born April 12, 2013 in Correctionville, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Correctionville area where he attended school, graduating from Correctionville High School in 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955 and served until his honorable discharge in 1958. He then attended University of Iowa and Morningside College. Roger married Cathy Nelson on May 5, 1962 in Minnesota. He worked as a police officer in Sioux City from 1960-1970. He then started working for Sioux City Foundry in 1970, before moving to Spencer in 1988 to start a steel division for Shine Bros. and State Steel. He worked there until his retirement in October of 2013. Roger enjoyed traveling, watching sports, especially the Vikings, spending time with his "little boys" and especially his family. He also enjoyed going to his vacation home in Bella Vista, AR. Roger passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at his home at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Cole Shultz; one sister, Doris Hefner and her husband Loren; and one niece, Jody Lesher. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cathy Greiner of Spencer, IA; two children Dori Ebaugh of Sioux City, IA and Kevin Greiner of Spencer, IA; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; Lilbit and Maxie; one brother Norm (Kathy) Greiner of Flint, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 6, at First Congregational Church in Spencer

VISITATION
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at First Congregational Church in Spencer.
MUSIC
INTERMENT
Private family burial at a later date.
