Roger Dean "Tuffy" Beck, the son of Robert E. and Dorothy Taylor Beck, was born May 7, 1944 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his education.
He was united in marriage to Doris Nissen in 1976 and has since resided in Spencer. Roger worked for Spencer Foods for several years, but was more recently employed as a city sanitation driver in Spencer for more than 20 years. Roger was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Spencer for many years and enjoyed camping, horseback riding, attending and working as a security guard at the Clay County Fair as well as visiting his Minnesota relatives.
Roger passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dorothy Beck of Spencer; two daughters: Jeree and Alice Beck; one grandson, Kolten; one brother, Larry Beck and his wife, Christine; two sisters: Norma Jean Patten and her husband, Steve and Beverly Beck all of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 17, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
