Roger Wayne Miller

Roger Wayne Miller was born December 2, 1935 in Spencer, Iowa. He was the son of Marvon C. Miller and Elsie J. Eaton Miller. Roger attended school in Spencer, Iowa until his senior year and then graduated in 1954 from Ruthven, Iowa. Roger was united in marriage to Caroline Fales of Webb on October 17th, 1954. After graduation, he worked at Spencer Fish & Tackle for five years. Most of his working career was spent at Wonder Whip in Fostoria, Iowa. He retired after thirty-six years. He was an avid horseman with expertise in team roping and training. Roger was a member of the Spencer Saddle Club and participated in the Reins of Hope. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, teaching his grandchildren about horses, and getting together with family. Roger and Caroline celebrated 55 years of marriage on October 17, 2009. Roger Miller died October 19th, 2009 at his home in Fostoria, Iowa. He was seventy-three years of age. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Miller of Fostoria; his daughter, Cathy Meyer of Milford, Iowa; his son, Michael Miller and wife Kim of Milford; his son, James Miller of La Plata, Maryland; seven grandchildren: Heath Miller and wife Heather, Eric Miller, Nick, Arin, and Jenna Miller, Kyle and Jesse Meyer and five great grandchildren.
SERVICES
A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held at the United Methodist Church in Fostoria Thursday night October 22, from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
