Roland Leigh Sindt

Roland Leigh Sindt, the son of Arnold and Betty Sindt, was born February 14, 1953 in Spencer, Iowa.  His childhood years were spent in Everly, where he received his early education.  After his early education, he continued to help his family on the farm.

     Roland married Lucy Meyerdirk on April 3, 1981 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Everly, Iowa.  Following their marriage they welcomed their daughter Jamie on April 29, 1982.  Roland continued to farm until retiring in 2005.  Roland was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church until it closed.  Roland enjoyed raising and spending time with his daughter, playing with his dogs, planting flowers, making his rounds to family and friends houses for coffee and snacks, and also joining his friends at The Ranch for a cold one.

     He passed away on his farm on August 7, 2020 at the age of 67.  Roland was preceded in death by his parents: Betty and Arnold Sindt.

     Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Jamie Inman (Mike) of Everly.  His 3 grandchildren: Jaiden, Jordan & Connar; his brothers and sisters: Norman (Jo) Sindt of Everly, Cynthia (Darwin) Feldt of LaVista, NE, Mary (Keith) DeJager of Yankton, SD, Allen (Robin) Sindt of Everly, Gaylen (Shelly) Sindt of Fostoria, Lisa (Jay) Johnson of Hartley, and Lori (Lee) Schilling of Sanborn, IA; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; along with many other relatives and friends.
