Ronald Keith Whalen

Ronald Keith Whalen, the son of Keith and Laura (Montgomery) Whalen, was born October 30, 1941 in Sanborn, Iowa. He grew up living with his grandparents in Primghar, Iowa, where he received his education, graduating from Primghar High School. After high school, he lived in Sioux Falls, SD.
Ron moved to Spencer, Iowa in 1991. He married Norma Walker on February 14, 1998. Ron worked for a number of years at Janitor's Closet, White Glove, Service Master and Shopko and later worked as a greeter for Walmart before his retirement in April of 2012. Ron always enjoyed working and was a sports and a football fanatic. He enjoyed reading and fishing, especially catching walleye during his time on the river in Chamberlain, SD on his little 14' boat.
He passed away at Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 73. Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Norma of Spencer; his grandchildren; a step brother, Tim May of Sioux Falls, SD; two stepsons: Tom Walker (Carla) and Robert Walker both of Spencer; other relatives and friends.
