Ronald 'Ron' Lee Sanow

July 25, 1940 — September 24, 2015

Ronald Lee Sanow, the son of Lester and Clover (Woodall) Sanow, was born July 25, 1940, in Remsen, Iowa. His childhood years were spent on a farm near Remsen where he received his education at Remsen Union High School and later Le Mars High School, where he graduated in 1958. After his schooling, he served with the National Guard. Ron moved to Cherokee, Iowa, where he worked at Caswell Manufacturing for 14 years, and later moved to Spencer, Iowa, where he worked at Eaton Corporation for 33 years until his retirement in 2007. He attended the Lutheran church while growing up. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed motorcycling and building things like flatbed trailers. He passed away at his home in Fostoria, Iowa, following a long illness at the age of 75. Ron was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Larry Sanow. Ron is survived by his mother, Clover Sanow of Remsen, IA; his children: Kevin Sanow of Pierson, IA, Damon Sanow and wife, Dena of Las Vegas, NV, and Melissa Krukow and husband, Todd of Spencer, IA; four grandchildren: Preston Krukow, Sophie Krukow, Ethan Sanow and Alexa Sanow; one great-granddaughter, Hadley Chindlund; two brothers: Roger (Pam) Sanow of Remsen, IA, and Jeff ( Rosie ) Sanow of Cherokee, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 29, at the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer, Iowa. Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Glen Pedersen Post #1 and the V.F.W. Clay County Post #3159
