    Ronald Wayne Potter, the son of Dwight and Edith (Batt) Potter, was born November 13, 1934 in Algona, IA.  His childhood years were spent in Algona, IA and later Burt, IA until 1944. They moved to Fenton, IA in 1949, where he received his education, graduating from Fenton High School in 1952.  After his schooling, he moved to Emmetsburg, IA.

     Ron married Annette Fry on June 26, 1955 in Emmetsburg, IA.  The first years of their marriage, Ron worked at Arnold Motor Supply in Algona, IA, a machine shop that his father owned for 7 years and a towing equipment business in Pocahontas, IA.  They moved to Spencer, IA in 1967 and later Fostoria, IA from 1970 to present, where he worked at Corn Belt Power for 29 years until retiring in 1996.  He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Spirit Lake, IA.  Ron and Annette enjoyed camping and their membership in the Good Sam Camper’s Club. He also enjoyed model rail roads and showing his Ford Model T car at various car shows.

     Ronald passed away at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake, IA on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the age of 84.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Swanson; a brother, Dean; twin grandchildren: Allison and Staci; and a grandchild, Grace.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Annette of Fostoria, IA; his children: Richard Potter of Newport News, VA, Kenneth and Vanessa Potter of Milford, IA and Charlene and Pete Stallman of Everly, IA; four grandchildren: Stefanie, Danielle, Ashley, and Emily; six great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Shane, Canon, Maddie, Leighton, and Rylee; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 1:30 P.M.,  Friday, September 20, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
